Taming SHAME:
Re-Scripting Negative Core Beliefs
Mental health concerns are commonly marked by elements of self-sabotage.  At the core, a lack of self-acceptance, self-care and Self-Love are underlying features of depression, anxiety, anger and dysfunctional relationships. Self-defeating mind games result in the hopelessness many endure in their struggle to shed shame or the self-blaming aspects of experienced trauma.

Learning to Self-Love is a transformative experience that will alter lives for the better. Learning Self-Love to replace self-defeating momentums, like anything else, requires a plan and a process. We invite you to join us to explore and learn.
Although psychological functioning involves thought, emotions, chemistry, neurology, genetics and environmental aspects, at an essential level, bio-energy is also involved. Just as an audiotape or computer hard drive contain information in electromagnetic fields, similarly our brain and body operate electromagnetically. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) taps literally into this electronic highway to find and release permanently, old emotional programming and self-defeating thoughts while neutralizing painful memories. EFT is a rapid resolution protocol that includes relaxation exercises, self-tapping, use of affirmations and expressed intentions.

This workshop examines the assessment and treatment of psychological problems using energy psychotherapy skills. Participants will be instructed in the use of EFT, examine the therapeutic implications and given the opportunity to practice and assess these skills as part of their learning process. This EFT workshop will provide a supportive and exploratory framework for attendees to enhance their skills using relaxation exercises, self-tapping, use of affirmations and expressed intentions.
There is consistent, empirical evidence that defines the relationship of mood, trauma and other mental health issues as characterized by core, unresolved emotional wounds and self-sabotaging cognitive schemas rooted in childhood and early-age experiences. In view of this, it makes a lot of sense to revisit effective ways to access these wounds and offer resolution.

This workshop focuses on recognizing, understanding and treating the layered trauma experienced, from the womb through adulthood. Inner Child treatment and resolution strategies will be addressed, including how these serve as a foundation for effective Energy Psychology applications.
This workshop offers us the opportunity to learn more about each other. Our unique perspectives and our shared sameness; both necessary for effective and meaningful work with our clients.  The very work that we do as helping professionals, dictates that in order to be effective, creating an environment characterized by validation and relationship building is paramount to successful outcomes in treatment. Awareness of and understanding the deep emotional and psychological effects racially charged current events, cultural history and racial ideologies have on consumers and practitioners alike, can enhance the therapeutic experience and delivery of mental health services.

This workshop offers a forum to examine how our individual perceptions can serve to enrich or limit our treatment approaches and options.
Staying “in our heads” is a tried and proven way to avoid our emotions. Often times clients who come to us for help, can benefit from strategies that allow them to process their emotional pain or traumatic experiences through non-verbal expressions.

This workshop confirms the advantages of play and other non-verbal activities that can help create an environment of safety while helping individuals connect to problematic events or emotions on a visceral level. Participants will be presented with a wide array of different activities that can be adapted to help address a range of mental health issues including grief, low-self-esteem, anger, depression, anxiety and relationship issues.
Deep in the recesses of our beings lurk that shadowy substance labeled as shame.  It sits like a pool of stagnant water that emits an odorous smell, and if you dare to look closer, it is covered by a slimy film.  It feels like it has always been there.  Shame identifies that part of self that  chronicles what we believe is fundamentally 'wrong' with us and can't be fixed.  Undermining these negative beliefs is to offer psycho (soul) therapy for true healing.

In this workshop, we will examine the origins of shame and offer tools to tame this formidable 'spirit killer.'

This two day workshop presents a humanistic approach to Sandtray that goes beyond the scene creation phase of Sandtray therapy primarily utilized with children. This approach broadens its effectiveness by including equal emphasis on the processing phase of Sandtray therapy.

Your adult clients will gain an expanded awareness and insight into emotional and mental blockages. Working with symbols and metaphors, this experiential workshop will present participants with a process that increases safety while empowering clients to address symbolically and non-verbally.
